Department of Finance: Tenders to purchase Electricity on an Aggregated Basis.
The Department of Finance, on behalf of the public sector, went to the market on 20 December 2004 for the supply of Approx 202.5 MW of electricity for 450 sites across a range of public sector bodies including government buildings, hospitals and Garda stations. The tender was divided into four tranches:
· Tranche 1: sites including Low Voltage Max Demand, Medium Voltage max Demand and General Purpose sites totalling 14 MW.
· Tranche 2: comprised Low Voltage Max Demand Sites totalling 85 MW
· Tranche 3: Comprised Medium Voltage Max Demand Sites totalling 100 MW
· Tranche 4: Comprised Low Voltage Max Demand, Medium Voltage max Demand and General Purpose sites totalling 3.5 MW
A total of four tenders were received in response to the request for tender.
An evaluation of the tenders has just been completed and the preferred bidders have been informed of the outcome. The contract should be awarded shortly, subject to the successful conclusion of final details with the preferred bidders.
The value of contracts to be awarded will be available once this award process is completed.
