During an official visit to the Republic of Ireland on 11 and 12 March 2015, the Governor of the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), Rolf Wenzel, met with the Minister for Finance and other senior Irish officials. Discussions focused on current and future co-operation between the CEB and Ireland.
Betting (Amendment) Bill 2013 sent to the President to be signed into law
The Betting (Amendment) Bill 2013 cleared its final hurdle today when the Minister for Finance Michael Noonan T.D. reported Seanad amendments back to the Dáil. The Bill will now be referred to the President for signature.
Minister Noonan welcomes AIB return to full year profit in 2014
The Minister for Finance, Mr Michael Noonan TD, today (02 March) announced his intention to amend tax relief for medical insurance premiums for young adults from 1 May 2015 on foot of changes introduced under the Health Insurance (Amendment) Act 2014.

- Bank of Ireland reported a full year 2014 underlying profit before tax of €921m compared with a loss of €564m in 2013, a turnaround of €1,485m.
- The bank continues to support the Irish economy and lending of €5.7bn in 2014 is almost 50% ahead of the prior year.
