Byclicking on any section in the Arrangement of Sections, the reader will bebrought directly to the text of the section in the Act.By clicking on the text at the beginning of the section in the Act, the reader will be brought to the layman's explanation of the section in the Explanatory Memorandum. The Act and the Memorandum should both be open in your Acrobat reader in order to avail of these features. The two files together occupy about one and a half megabytes, and there are nearly 450 pages of text in the two documents. The Finance Act, 1999 amendsthe Taxes Consolidation Act, 1997, which consolidates legislation relating to income tax, corporation tax and capital gains tax in 1, 500 pages, and which is available on CD-Rom for £99 from the Government Publications Sales Office, Dublin 2. The CD-ROM also contains the Revenue Commissioners' "Notes for Guidance" on the Taxes Consolidation Act, a 1,700 page book explaining the Act in layman's language.
